Who Is Rumored To Be Taking The Old Joe’s American Space?

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

When people think of a great martini bar in Chestnut Hill, what do they think of?

1. Legal Seafood? NO

2. Aquitaine? NO…well maybe but still NO

3. Capital Grille? Nope

We will give you one more guess…………Ok, give up?  The answer is:

Met Bar

The Metropolitan Club, the sexy Bar and Grille located in Chestnut Hill, MA.  The wildly popular, lounge style, martini bar is well know for its delicious infused vodka’s and cocktail libations.  One look at the drink and food menu, one can see why this concept will match, if not exceed the excitement and popularity it has brought to Chestnut Hill and Newton, MA. We welcome The Met Bar to the neighborhood and hope  the Back Bay Associations do not give them too hard a time with their licensing and zoning.

Just a small sampling of the deliciousness patrons can expect when dining at The Met:

The Paramount in Beacon Hill – Not Just Breakfast

Monday, April 26th, 2010

Paramount Bistro BostonThe Paramont Bistro, a fixture on Charles Street in Beacon Hill since 1937 is well known for its comfort breakfast menu. Surrounded by history, charm, gas lit tree lined streets and some of the most expensive real estate in Boston is this inconspicuous, absolutely delicious bistro.  What many people d0 not know is that they serve dinner.

Last night, while enjoying a nice stroll through the Hill, a few of us had the pleasure to dine at The Paramount for what was perhaps one of the most enjoyable meals we have ever had in Boston.  I had the Teriyaki Grilled Chicken with Lo Mein noodles and stir friend vegetables. WOW!!!  My friend had the sweet Chicken Marsala with creamy, garlic potato’s and buttery green beans.  My other friend had the very generous sized, extremely tasty, baked chicken.  To top it off, we shared perhaps one, if not the most delicious, most decadent desserts we had ever tasted, the warm, caramel topped, ice cream on the side, banana bread pudding.  We were tempted to order the chocolate cake or caramel cookie dough milk shake but held off.

The staff was friendly and professional, the price was reasonable, the atmosphere was laid back and the food ranks up there with the top eateries in Boston. This should be a must try when visiting or living in Boston. In all honesty, it does not get too much better than The Paramount Bistro for dinner, if you like casual, affordable, top notch dining.  We will indeed visit many more times in the very near future and highly recommend it.

Union Bar and Grille Restaurant – Brunch Review

Saturday, January 2nd, 2010

Union-Logo

As you can tell, we love our brunch at Luxury Residential Group. Today we had the opportunity to dine at Union Bar and Grille Restaurant (Not to be confused with Union Oyster House near Faneuil Hall) in Boston’s hot SOWA (South of Washington) area of the South End. The home of many new, trendy, high end Loft developments like Wilkes Passage, and Laconia Lofts.

Our experience was wonderful.  The decor was quite soothing, the Jazz music made for a chill, low key, laid back comfortable atmosphere and the food was delicious.  I had the special. French toast served Texas Style, filled with yummy melted chocolate, and finished off with powdered sugar sprinkled on top.  As if the chocolate filling was not enough, on the side came chocolate covered strawberries. It was de-lish.  My guest had the Goat Cheese and mushroom omlette which was good, but a little boring compared to the special. In the past, we have ordered the prix fixe brunch.  It includes a yummy piece of home made coffee cake, orange juice, coffee, and your choice of the chef’s special omlette of the day, salmon scrambled eggs w/homefries or their signature B-52 french toast all for $9.95. Without a doubt the best brunch value in the entire city for food of this quality. (Prix Fixe is only available Saturday 10am-3pm and Sunday 10am-11am).

We had no complaints about our experience at Union Bar and Grille. The staff was friendly, funny, and attentive.  The food was reasonably priced, prepared to order and absolutely delicious.  The coffee was strong and the orange juice was fresh squeezed. This has quickly become one of our favorite Saturday and Sunday “Comfort” brunch spots in Boston.

Union Bar and Grille is located at 1357 Washington St. in Boston, MA.  Please visit –>BRUNCH MENU<– to see their entire brunch selection.

Mistral Sunday Brunch – One Of Boston’s Best In Our Opinion

Monday, December 14th, 2009

We had the opportunity to host a few of our clients at Mistral Bistro – (617) 867-9300, located on Boston’s South End and Back Bay border at 223 Columbus Ave., this past weekend for their new Sunday Brunch.

I had the delicious Greek-Style Yogurt Panna Cotta with granola  and honey to start and an absolutely amazing goat cheese and mushroom Frittata. What is a Frittata you might ask? Basically it is an open faced omelette served fresh out of the oven in a skillet. My guest had the Gratin of Pink Grapefruit served with brown sugar and Champagne Sabayon for starters and the Honeycrisp Apple Pancakes served with warm syrup and apple cinnamon butter.  Only two words could describe the meal….ridiculously good.

Some helpful advice; everything we had was prepared perfectly and all the items on the menu look equally good. We even had to take some extra time to decide which meals we wanted.  Order a few dishes and split them with your company.  The portions are extremely generous and you will want to try as many as possible.

  • Service – Excellent but our server had limited knowledge of the brunch menu items and their ingredients.
  • Atmosphere – Relaxing and inviting
  • Food – Top 5 brunches in the city of Boston.
  • Price – Very Reasonable for the portion size

Mistral is located at 223 Columbus Ave., nestled in between the Back Bay and South End in the Albert Pope Loft Building.
