Who Is Rumored To Be Taking The Old Joe’s American Space?

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

When people think of a great martini bar in Chestnut Hill, what do they think of?

1. Legal Seafood? NO

2. Aquitaine? NO…well maybe but still NO

3. Capital Grille? Nope

We will give you one more guess…………Ok, give up?  The answer is:

Met Bar

The Metropolitan Club, the sexy Bar and Grille located in Chestnut Hill, MA.  The wildly popular, lounge style, martini bar is well know for its delicious infused vodka’s and cocktail libations.  One look at the drink and food menu, one can see why this concept will match, if not exceed the excitement and popularity it has brought to Chestnut Hill and Newton, MA. We welcome The Met Bar to the neighborhood and hope  the Back Bay Associations do not give them too hard a time with their licensing and zoning.

Just a small sampling of the deliciousness patrons can expect when dining at The Met:

Stephanie’s Restaurant On Newbury Street is a Gem

Friday, July 9th, 2010

I recently took a Luxury Residential Group client to Stephanie’s on Newbury for lunch.

StephaniesonNewbury

If you know anything about this place and their amazing adaptations on comfort foods, you should go, and go now! Stephanie’s on Newbury serves familiar dishes, but executed in ways that are innovative, generous (they are known for large portions)and, above all, delicious. I have always found this to be a terrific place to go with out-of-town guests or for an afternoon of people watching with friends from their expansive street-side patio. Stephanie’s is located on Newbury Street in the heart of Boston’s historic Back Bay.

We were seated immediately on the patio overlooking Newbury Street. The atmosphere was relaxed, the waitresses were friendly and the food (especially the salads) were outstanding. For an appetizer, we shared their very well known ahi tuna tartare, essentially cucumber-wrapped chopped sashimi tuna, with plenty of spice. This amazing combination was topped with crispy wonton strips and peanuts. It tasted as great as it sounds! Then I had their seasonal lobster salad roll, that had a great balance of mayo, lemon and maybe a zing of mustard. To my liking, it was served on a toasted roll. For lobster roll fans, this could be the very best around! My Client had the classic chunky chicken salad that had some toasted almonds and capers which really were a nice touch. The homemade irish soda bread was just perfect with the chicken salad. No complaints there either! Their salads are really very special.

Most everyone will enjoy sitting on the patio on a sunny day because it is such a terrific location and the scenery is ever-changing. I wholeheartedly recommend Stephanie’s On Newbury, and definitely suggest getting a table outside on a nice day and enjoying one of Boston’s great meals with some good company. It lays claim to creating “sophisticated comfort food” so come hungry and prepare to be satisfied! They deliver.

Stephanie’s is located in Boston’s Back Bay at 190 Newbury Street on the corner of Exeter and Newbury.

Luxury Residential Group Sells 20 Brimmer Street

Monday, March 29th, 2010
Joshua A. Golden of Luxury Residential Group represented the buyer in the much publicized single family residence located at 20 Brimmer St in Beacon Hill, Boston, MA.  One of the nicest gut renovations of an existing single family home in Boston, 20 Brimmer was initially priced at $8,500,000+.  Unfortunately, while the home was under construction, and before its true beauty could come to fruition, the market turned.  Although the sale will be on public record, we feel it is best to protect all the parties involved and not publicize the final number.

We would like to mention a few of the parties involved in the sale:

Peter  and Elizabeth Georgantas (Developer/Seller) – Peter, a local real estate developer, well known for his works on 15+ single family home restorations, and the highly successful Modern building in The South End, was the seller and general contractor on the home at 20 Brimmer.  Peter and his wife Elizabeth, the quintessential professionals and masters of detail spared no expenses.  The smart home has it all: full audio and security automation, radiant heated flooring, central cooling, many green elements including an energy efficient roof, hardwoods throughout, imported marble in the master bathroom, elevator, state of the art kitchen and two deeded parking spaces. The home is flawless to say the least and Peter is responsible for every inch. We applaud them for a job well done. Please see another one of his masterpieces at 74 Beacon Street, asking $14,950,000.  Elizabeth and Peter will be running this years Boston Marathon to help raise money for cancer research at Dana Farber. Please visit their page —–> HERE <——

Tracy Campion and Brad Sprogis – Tracy and Brad represented the seller in this transaction. Two of the most professional, intelligent, well prepared people you will ever meet.  In a business that sometimes draws unethical and overly aggressive agents, Tracy and Brad stand in a class of their own for being true professionals. Luxury Residential Group would like to thank Brad and Tracy for all their hard work and efforts.

Art, Music and Real Estate – Simon and Garfunkel

Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

At Luxury Residential Group we have a deep appreciation for the arts.  As a matter of fact, in our office space on Boylston Street, we hang artwork from The Artana Gallery.  We also have a passion for timeless music.  Music that stays with us from generation to generation. Moving forward, we will be featuring music and artwork on our blog as we feel it goes hand and hand with Real Estate and your Home.

Art – Fills your home with color.  Each painting tells a story from one persons perspective .

Music – Brings sound and energy to your home.  Both of which we feel are necessary components for a happy and healthy lifestyle.

Simon and Garfunkel Then

Simon and Garfunkel Now

Simon and Garfunkel Now

The first work that we would like to share with you is a performance by Simon and Garfunkel from Madison Square Garden this past Fall(2009).  The song is called The Boxer.  Pushing their 70′s in age, Simon and Garfunkel’s music has stood the test of time. Although their voices have matured, they sound even better in this performance than they did in the 60′s and 70′s. There is something about their passion and lyrics that send chills down most peoples spines. Enjoy!!
